I designed this table for my best friend - an architect and an artist. I wanted the table to be as functional as it was aesthetic.

Designed with concepts of circularity in mind, the table can be completely disassembled; and individual components can be used in other ways as well should the client not need the table anymore.

Elaborate brass joinery adds a lovely aesthetic combined with the rich teak.

CIRCULARITY

The table was designed in a way that the individual components can be reused should the table be dismantled permanently. The legs can be turned in vases, the adjustable mechanism at the back becomes a rack for plates. The board can become a pin-up board and the tray can be used as a key tray. All of the metal components can either be reused or the metal can be melted and re-cast.

THE FINAL PIECE

The table was made by my dear friend Ansh of Studio Bavl, and my vision was realised perfectly.

The piece turned out functional in terms of ergonomics, and has stood the test of time so far.

The table in use:
1. The back of the board with the mechanism visible
2. In-use as an easel, height is suitable.
3. Side-angle of the mechanism at work.
